GE Water Filters

General Electric specializes in reverse osmosis water filters

The General Electric Company was formed with the merger of the Thomas-Houston Company and the Edison General Electric Company in 1892 – thirteen years after Thomas Edison discovered the “incandescent lamp.” Today, GE is one of the most highly respected household brands in the world.

GE SmartWater™ makes a wide variety of products, from water filters to water softeners and water heaters. GE’s wide variety of water filtration products and systems includes whole home filtration and single unit water filtration systems.

Water Filtration Units
GE’s Whole Home Water Filtration has three essential styles. The largest unit is the GXWH35F which can filter up to 20 gallons per minute. These are filter sold separately. Other models are not as large, but come with a filter installed. These are all installed on the main water line into your home and all promise to “reduce sediment, sand, and rust that can damage plumbing and appliances.” These are covered by a one year warranty.

Smaller systems include GE’s reverse osmosis systems include the PXRQ15F. This is an under the sink filtration tank with an 11 gallon capacity. Reverse osmosis is the single best method of water filtration, removing at least 99.99% of harmful contaminants from your water. These also have a twist and lock design for maximum durability.

The GE Dual Stage is their most popular model of filtration. It uses two high-volume carbon filters. It’s ideal for larger families.

For smaller families, the GE Single Stage reduces drinking water impurities with one high volume carbon filter.

Other GE Filtration
GE also makes bottled water dispensers that can have three different temperature settings (cold, hot or room temperature).

GE’s filtered water pitchers produce clean, healthy drinking water in a method that is very similar to the popular Brita or PUR water pitchers.

Faucet mounts slip on over your faucet. GE’s is bulkier than other faucet mounts but it has been rated #1 by a “leading consumer magazine” for its effectiveness.

GE’s refrigerator/ icemaker filtration systems are compatible with any side-by-side or top-freezer refrigerator (regardless of brand).
